Safeguarding & Protection

Protecting every person entrusted to our care

Safeguarding is a Gospel mandate. Our sisters, partners, staff, and volunteers commit to environments that protect the dignity, rights, and well-being of children and persons in vulnerable situations.

This page summarizes our Congregation Safeguarding Policy 2022 and highlights the focal contacts for the South West India Province. Detailed procedures, codes of conduct, and training modules are available through the Provincialate.

Policy Highlights

Congregation Safeguarding Policy 2022

Our safeguarding framework responds to the duty of care entrusted to us. Every ministry — education, health care, residential care, social action, and contemplative communities — implements the same standards so that people can encounter merciful love in safe spaces.

Rooted in mission

Safeguarding is inseparable from our mission to uphold the dignity and integral development of every person, especially those impacted by violence, discrimination, poverty, or social exclusion.

Congregation Safeguarding Policy 2022

The policy expresses Gospel values of justice, inclusion, and transparency, outlining responsibilities for all sisters and associated persons to prevent harm and respond promptly when concerns arise.

Standard 1 commitment

We provide environments that serve the best interests and developmental needs of children and persons in vulnerable situations. Every ministry, partner, and volunteer is accountable to these standards.
